My Story
Early Film Foundations
I’ve been creative my whole life. But societal and familial expectations meant I struggled to see it as a legitimate path when I was younger. Nonetheless, being creative is something my heart decided to follow, and it has never stopped. It’s always been my safe space for expression.
Professional Directing Career
This is when I finally decided to go all-in on creative work, even leaving the dental program I was enrolled in (yes, I was going to be a dentist). My first paycheque for creative work came in 2014. From there, I slowly started to build a reputation on high-profile sets, developing my signature style of bold visuals and dynamic, direct-to-camera storytelling.
Shift to Content Creation
Taking a leap of faith, I transitioned from agency work into creating my own online content, bringing professional filmmaking principles into creator-friendly formats. My direct-to-camera aesthetic was later credited by Instagram's Head, Adam Mosseri, as one of the most copied video styles on the platform.
Building an Audience
I grew rapidly across Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube with free tutorials about cinematic storytelling. During this time, I launched the APCC Discord community, which reached 14,500+ members, and a newsletter that gained 10,000 subscribers in its first month. It’s still one of my favorite places to connect with fellow creators.
Creating Structured Courses
Responding to community demand, I developed The Cinematic Creator Blueprint and The Filmmaker's Academy, with more than 70 lessons combined. I always want to meet my community where they're at, and these courses are just the beginning of that commitment.
Launching APCC Courses
I partnered with Rare Days to launch the Adrian Per Content College, an educational platform where solo creators can learn to make work they’re proud of, build sustainable creative practices, and feel part of something bigger than themselves.
